In 2015 Mike’s Maze presented Alice in Sunderland!
The maze design, inspired by the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s wildly wondrous work, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was the first to be designed by next generation farmers David Wissemann and his wife, Jess. To commemorate everyone’s favorite Wonderland explorer, we grew Alice to new heights in 8 acres of corn! Just as Alice had to navigate the characters and creatures of Wonderland, maze-goers had to navigate the twists and turns of our corn field in Sunderland.
The more you explored, the curiouser and curiouser things got with games that challenged Wonderland explorers to assemble their croquet team and flamingo mallets on their way to the Queen’s Croquet Match! Maze-goers mustered their knowledge of Carroll’s classic children’s story to successfully ace acres of trivia and come out with a coveted farm prize! …and tried not to lose their head along the way.
We were a-mazed and honored as fans of Mike’s Maze and the works of Lewis Carroll helped make Alice in Sunderland world-famous! We were named the best corn maze in America by Yahoo, and the image of our corm maze went viral with over 3 million views!
